This device has worked much better than previous cutters I have tried. With this unit, I can even remove the foil lid on the K pod to recycle and use the coffee grounds for my compost. Then I use the cutter to remove the ring any filter left remaining. And I really love the fact the blades are replaceable, instead of replacing the entire unit as with other cutters. Definitely would recommend this product!!
I have never used any other k kup recycling tool but no reason to now this thing works great very simple and fast I used to recycle them by tearing them apart with my hands never again there is no short comings to this tool.
This cutter is easy to use, I find it a bit large but strong well built, most the kcups separate easily from top and plastic body however there are brands that the cutter does not grab the filter so it can be a mess. I have found the cutter works best on walmart brands. Still it is good to do what I can to recycle where I can.
The device is easy to use. I found it safe and mostly comfortable. The blade cartridge seems to have been 3d printed. Instead of ridges to give grip, make an indent with a wall to cradle your finger. The ridges give grip, but you have to press with a bit if force to get it to move…after doing 30 or so, my finger was a little sore. It also would be nice to have the blade cut lower. Some brands have a glue line lower than others, and for those the top comes off with the bag still glued to the plastic cup.
